I and my family have been Alaska Airlines customers for several years. We've always thought they were an exceptional airline. However, this new direction they're taking - I assume it is due to Leftist managers running the show - is un-American and dangerous. Maybe it's time for us to cancel our Bank of America Alaska Airlines card and find something else. Bank of America might be interested in hearing about this, although I would be surprised to learn that they're any different .
Flight attendants are rude, condescending, and bully's; treat PAYING passengers like they are children. Putting your mask over your mouth between bites is absolutely asinine.
Alaska Airlines has given their employees cart blanche to treat passengers anyway they choose without consequences. Their wokeness has made them arrogant. They do not represent the majority of Alaskans and should change their name to Seattle or Washington Airlines.
They preach and advertise they are inclusive, they support different views, especially those of the black and LGBTQ communities, but they aren't tolerant of any other views. As long as you believe and support their causes, you will be treated well, if you are Republican/conservative and support Trump, then you will be treated like dirt from this company. Enough is enough! This is still a free country and we will never ALL think alike. You provide a service, that we pay dearly for, and should treat passengers with zero bias.
I've been an Alaska Airlines customer since the 70's, mostly because I lived in a part of Alaska that the airline has the monopoly on. Now I have a choice and I will be looking at flying another company until Alaska pulls it's head out and starts treating ALL passengers with respect.
As an Alaska Airlines MVP miliage member I can testify to the fact that Flight Attendants general attitude has made boarding an Alaska Airlines flight a disturbing and contentious experience on every flight. They seem to feel that they're only duty on the entire flight is to be "A Covid Mask Enforcer". Customer Service is non-existent. On a Red Eye flight from Anchorage to Chicago I flew first class which entitled me to one drink and a bag of chex-mix. The most bizarre event was when half way there I was sleeping up against the window and the whackjob attendant actually woke me up because my mask had slid down onto my chin. They obviously have never learned to leave sleeping dogs lie. They are rude, snobbish and yes Covid has had the same negative effect on flying that 9-11 did. It has become such a hassle in so many ways that I dred going to the Airport. A kind to the dread associated with visiting the Dentist... Not angry about it, just sharing my experiences and honest feelings, pitiful development... smh
I actually work at seatac and was appalled, but not surprised at all about this video. To add to your story..'monique' is actually a lead Customer Service Agent named Dominique. She has had multiple complaints from various passengers AND coworkers. Sadly, from what Ive heard from around the station, she's been getting praise from our supervisors on how she "handled the situation."
As for Alaska as a whole they have difinetly become super 'woke.' We get pushed down our throats emails about 'inclusiom for all!', and a 'pride planes' and a 'black engagement' plane. Even if you're not an employee, their Instagram tells just how 'woke' they have become.
Some of our employees at the airport and our flight attendants have become such mask Nazis it's absolutely ridiculous. I get emabarresed when I work with one.
It's a policy for FA's not to wake passengers up, but they've had no problem waking me up when my mask has slipped a bit under my nose. 🙄
Thankfully our workgroup is part of a union so I don't think they can make us get the vaxx as of now..but it's my biggest fear when they renew our contract to slip that in there. :(
Deeply concerned over this incident Nd the information provided on this site. Alaska Air has been “ MY” airline for a number of years and I have preferred them above any other airline. However I have been and remain a strong Trump supporter and a conservative Republican and wonder what tr3atment I will recieve , once I decide to fly again!!
I am a former employee. I left in February. As a Republican I was clearly aware I must stay silent about my views because I saw what they did to people that didn’t support their side. The employees constantly bad mouthed Republicans and Trump. They would refuse to work flights with you once they found out you were a “red”. You would be assigned horrible duties and kept away from others. There is also a black leadership group that slams white people. One of the head station managers, who is black and female is part of it. Alaska is all about screaming their political views, ie the newly painted black plane and pride plane, but if you disagree, you better find another job. That is exactly what I did. I now work for an extremely reputable airline and I couldn’t be more happy or proud!
These bullying acts made by Alaska Airlines flight attendants had best be a handful of attendants that deserve to be fired and better not be promoted from top corporate leadership. This is so disheartening and so disgusting of an otherwise outstanding service oriented airline.
Hi Sara. Wow! Thanks so much for taking this on! We want to join your movement and get some heat on Alaska Airlines. Two months ago the FBI broke into our home, held us at gun point, handcuffed us, interrigated us, all in a mis-concieved search for Nancy Pelosi's laptop!... and all because we got harrassed on an Alaska Airlines flight in February and got targetted by an attendant who was tracking how 'masking between sips and bites' which I had no idea was a thing!! We were met at the end of the flight and informed that I was banned from flying Alaska Airlines. When I attempted to inform the personal that I had been masking and, although I had felt harrassed and targeted by a flight attendant, I had not received a 'yellow card' per their own protocol in inform me that I might be in breach of their policies. The PILOT getting off of the flight heard me and got right in my face and started yelling at me! My husband took offense at his assault and asked him to stand back and then got between us to force the pilot away from me. There were no apologies for this EXTREMELY unprofessional behavior... and BOTH my husband I were later informed by email that we were banned as 'non maskers' from flying again. LATER WE LEARNED that one of the employees reported us to the FBI as 'suspected' for violence on Jan 6th rally in DC, and a short time later the FBI was busting in our door guns blazing. So yes, count us in!! And let us know how we can help! We are sharing our story locally and nationally regarding FBI targetting of patriots at Jan 6th and looking at a Class Action for that... but also need to deal with Alaska Airlines and the mask crazy stuff... and the political targetting going on there!! Latest for us is we have been added to Dom Terrorist lists and almost can't get on a plane any more. We have to arrive 4 hours ahead and confront multiple unconstitutional searches and seizures... ticket counter, security screening area, and again at the gate... and sometimes again on the gangway!! The feds and NGOs have gone crazy!!
I'm doing a lot of training and research, learning common law, so I can represent myself in multiple suits and claims we are filing, and eventually help others learn how to fight back.
I have down Alaska for years. Over the past year or so I have had to be exposed to much political discrimination that I cannot stand to fly that airline anymore. I’m expected to endure “gay pride” coming from flight attendants and gate agents with rainbow masks and buttons, Covid vaccine pushes, the indoctrination of children to believe they can “identify” as whatever they want, but I have been asked to remove a Trump hat!!!!!!! This is a former President of the United States!! I’ve been insulted like I was a child by a what appeared to be a teenage flight attendant about the proper use of a worthless required mask. This airline is absolutely and utterly discriminatory on the fronts of sexuality, politics, and age. It’s absolutely disgusting. I do not care about “gay pride” when I’m trying to t from point A to point B. I don’t care what the flavor of the month the employees there are supporting. Stick to safely flying us around. I feel extremely uncomfortable being In confined area and having what I believe to be incessant brainwashing measures Taking place from people who legally have the ultimate authority over my life at that particular point in time. I HATE IT!!!
My wife and I were on a nonstop flight from Anchorage to Phoenix on June 4th to celebrate my mother’s 81st birthday along with mine the following week and visit two of our three sons who both live in AZ, I boarded the plane with a black mask with the message Fuck joe biden on it, soon after we sat down we were both asleep, I in the isle and my wife at the window. Shorty thereafter I was shaken awake by a main cabin male African American flight attendant who was holding an AK AIR mask and explained to me that I needed to change my mask, I replied, “ so much for my rights” then I explained that I didn’t need the offered mask, I had another one, the whole time conducting myself politely and complying to his request. I put my alternative mask on which had the words biden sucks on it, when he saw this he exclaimed aloud, “ oh hell no” and went to converse with the two first class attendants at which time sensing his skin was too thin for my beliefs, I put on a plain black mask and tried to go back to sleep as my wife told me I was getting kicked off, I replied no way and shut my eyes, soon after I was again shaken, this time by a supervisor named Amber, who asked if we were flying together, I answered yes this is my wife. She told me we had to get off the plane along with my 80 pound seizure alert service dog, I said leave my wife on here and I’ll exit, planning to arrange my own travel plans to meet her, which she agreed to. Amber and I went up to the gate where I explained calmly that I was of no threat and that I was trying to meet my mothers birthday celebrations in the am, she said she’d talk to the attendants and see if they would allow me back on, in the mean time, my wife was giving people my info as all of first class couldn’t believe I was being taken off the plane, at this time the same attendant walked by my wife and told her “ this is a done deal and that she needs to stop talking about it” to which my wife replied, “ this is not a done deal and I will not stop talking about it, the attendant then met the supervisor as she boarded to discuss my being able to continue and the attendant asked her to also remove my wife who never lowered her approved mask.
The three of us then went back to the gate and we’re discussing our options , which at that time was leaving 3 hours later 3-4am going through Seattle with a 4 hour layover, all with my dog who will need a rest break sooner than this flight would allow! A few minutes later Amber came to us and said she got us on the same flight the next night in the same first class seats. Apparently she knew the flight was canceled before the other passengers and booked us first! Later we found out that the flight from Anchorage to Phoenix and the connecting one from Phoenix back to Anchorage we’re both canceled because of the flight crew not being comfortable on that nights flight. My wife and I went home and returned to next night to take the nonstop flight to Phoenix, missing my mothers birthday celebration, as well as one day of our planned vacation, some of the passengers took the next flight, one first class passenger was booked into a seat way in the back with less room for his 285 pound frame returning home from his job on the slope with little to no sleep. At the end of our trip we went to check in on our phones and were told to see the counter at check in, I knew right away the 45 min shuttle to the airport would be a waste of time, I told my wife to check another airline, which she did, and we left the next night on American. Our next planned trip was going back to Phoenix for Father’s Day the next weekend, and because we didn’t go to the gate when we were promoted to, we received an email telling us that we were both on a 30 day flight suspension with AK AIR pending an investigation. We are both 75k, travel once a month to and from Phoenix with no baggage to our house in SanTan Valley.

This was the mask kisha used from New Mexico, Dallas on to Anchorage, Alaska. We checked into three different state airports and not one CSA/FA told us this was not allowed for a two year old to fly.
We made it to Alaska and buried our beloved Aunty felila. It was already emotional time for our family but heading home we felt at peace and were excited to be back together.
Sitting on the flight to Seattle we all felt relieved to be going home after an emotional week with family. I want to bring to attention once again not one Csa/Fa had warned us that mask was not allowed. I noticed a FA charge over to my sister in law thinking she was the mother to my daughter kisha. When I could tell the lady stereotyped my daughters skin color I interrupted to correct her on who she needed to speak with.
The FA went on to tell us with a very aggressive tone that suckers were not allowed on any flight. I had to take the sucker from my two year old immediately. She went on to say but your one your old is allowed to have it since he is under two.
A new regulation on airplanes for suckers. She stated was mandated two and up are not allowed to use suckers.
I took the sucker away and my daughter right away started screaming. The FA then went on to say her mask was not allowed and she had to wear a cloth mask to fly.
Anyone with children or who has common sense knows taking a sucker from one sibling and a two year old is asking for a melt down. My daughter refused to put a mask over her mouth. All she wanted was her sucker. The FA then started to say you have to wear the mask if you want to go on a vacation.
This lady assumed we are going on vacation. My two year old did not understand what was going on or she was saying. We were trying to get the kids home after burying a family member.
The F/A started waving her hands scaring my daughter even more to get the CSA on board. The CSA then started talking to my daughter like she was a school aged child. I clearly stated to him “ sir she does not understand what you are saying”
The CSA says “ I know but she has to get off if she won’t wear it”
The F/A went on to still talk to us like we were ignorant and said she had to get off. Luckily my mother was on board and calmly took my 2 year old off so I could get my sister in law and baby home. The F/A stated they did not have time to wait on us rushing my mother off with my daughter. They kicked a two year old off all in a 10 min span of yelling. She had 3 diapers no wipes and no clothes.
I felt my children were tarted by the way they look. A F/A came after my child for a sucker then her mask. She was trying to get my child off the flight from the start. My child is traumatized from using any type of mask now. The trauma of being split up and in another state is unforgettable. The money we spent with hotels and driving 6 hrs twice to get to the closest airport was ridiculous. My baby was treated like an animal and it all started from a flight attendant making a sucker mandate.
In April I was removed from an Alaska Flight for wearing a mask that said" This mask is as useless as Biden" I had worn this mask on 7 previous flights. Then they placed me on another flight an hour later and I was wearing the same mask. The flight I was on from Denver to Seattle had another customer with a BLM mask and they had no problems. I have a written statement that I can send. Currently looking for an attorney to handle, but my attorney that we use all the time can't take it as his wife is on the Alaska Airlines board.
On my flight home from Spokane WA to Fairbanks, it was scheduled first Spokane to Seattle and then Seattle to Fairbanks. In the Spokane airport, a group of men were laughing and talking and they had on Trump hats and shirts with the US flags on them. When boarding came, they entered the plane still peacefully laughing and talking, they were a happy group. We all sat. Then out of the blue, an Alaska Airlines employee came in and asked one of them to pack up their stuff and to leave the plane. The group looking puzzled and asked why. The employee responded that it will be discussed in a room later. Everyone was confused and the man got his stuff and left. His friends tried to explain that they had somewhere they all needed to be and had a car waiting for them, but the employee ignored that. Then the employee asked if another one of them would like to leave as well so he wouldn’t be alone. Another one agreed and left too. It was clearly the airlines purposely breaking up the group. It felt super stressful to me and I wanted to stand up for the man, but I had my kids and felt powerless. It made me sick to my stomach. I grateful for this opportunity to tell this story.
This incident, along with countless other incidents, is unacceptable. This is our state and it is offensive that a private Seattle based company uses "Alaska" in it's branded name and logo. To further insult us, the use of an image of an Inupiat Elder by this racist company from outside denigrates our culture and families. We were not taught to treat visitors in this manner. This behavior by employees with full support of management of an airline that provides essential transportation services in our state cannot stand. "Alaska" Airlines does not share our values and is causing economic and emotional hardship on paying customers. In effect they are creating classes of people, in the same theme that the Democrat Party used to delegate Native Alaskans to 2nd class status, segregating on the basis of race. In this case, a person is classified undesirable on the basis of protected political speech. In fact, simply because a paying customer pulls out of their purse a required face mask with lettering, is not "proof" of their political leanings. In an era of stressful travel and the threat of being removed from a plane for failing to produce an "approved" face covering, anything goes to comply. The idea that an ignorant and likely emotionally unbalanced employee has extreme political prejudices and is allowed by management to harass and humiliate a paying customer due to personal political differences leads to broader concerns. Alaska Airlines management purposefully neglected heavy maintenance of its' fleet, directly leading to the loss of an aircraft and 88 people dying.
I will be calling on our Governor Dunleavy to issue an executive order to ban any State of Alaska business, travel or freight immediately, until such time as this airline eliminates any policy of political discrimination and immediately respects the free exercise of political expression and correspondence on a personal level of any employee or customer.
Our state cannot condone this behavior and must eschew the financial support using state funds to do business with this company.
I suggest that other than venting outrage, and simply voicing what amounts to hot air, the most effective response for all those who feel strongly on this issue to contact the Governor and demand the immediate termination of all state contracts and the use of Alaska Airlines services for official state employee travel.
There are essential regional routes with limited air carriers, for which local regional airlines can compete to replace the services currently served by Alaska Air. The effects of this are simply good for protecting our rights, ending the unethical support for an airline that does not share our values with state funds and for rural enterprise in general.
I was discriminated against with my son. We had found the exact same itinerary twice already once in October and ones in April round-trip Anchorage to Cabo was the plan.
This trip was June 5, we left on a later flight than usual at 4 AM, upon boarding the Plane and very close after we took off Both my son and I fell asleep. Our flight was to Seattle and then a connection to Cabo as always. I was awoken about 20 minutes before we landed bye a stewardess, African-American, slapping me in the chest with the yellow card about mask wearing, only word she said is “you have been warned” I was extremely startled woke up looked over at my son his mask had fallen off of his nose so I woke him up and told him to put his mask up and that we got a yellow card warning us about masks apparently. We landed know where the conversation had occurred between me or my son and any of the stewardesses. As we depart the plane again, nobody said anything to us until we stepped out into Seattle, at that point some complete stranger that works for Alaska airlines, oriental gentleman, came with two of my son and I and immediately asked us to come to the side, told us that there was a Problem on the plane asked what happened. I showed him the yellow card and explained my absolute confusion and was still wondering and still am, what happened? He proceeded to hand me a letter and told me that mine and my sons flight, which happens to be my sons birthday trip, to Mexico that the rest of the reservation has been canceled!? I looked at him an absolute disbelief asked him what we were being accused of and by whom. My son was almost in tears asking him what we were being accused of as well he turned around and looked at both of us and said “you should know” I very quickly realized that we were not going to get any answers from him or the other gentleman that he brought to inform us that Alaska Airlines was suspending us from flights for an incident that I still have not gotten a response to, what supposedly happened. I wrote numerous emails to Alaska airlines expressing that I had flown numerous times and that we in no way were unwilling to wear masks and there was no incident and I have requested the incident report numerous times, every time I have attempted communication with Alaska Airlines. I also already had a trip, A business trip, that I had paid for myself and my manager at work, and two weeks after the incident they proceeded to cancel that trip as well and it made a final decision that my suspension was going to be upheld. I again have asked for the incident report urge them to look at my record and then I wanted to know who was accusing me of what because we did nothing at all. I ended up spending a copious a pound of money to go on the trip I had to pay for a hotel in Seattle my health was extremely affected. The amount of stress this has caused for someone like myself that has been running a business through the entire Covid experience, having to wear masks and upholding all of the mandates. I will never fly Alaska airlines again, my business account accumulate Alaska airline miles and they in no way considered any of that. I from day one told them this was either a mistaken identity or straight discrimination I am a white woman with blond hair my son is also white with blond hair and considering we had no conversations no altercations and absolutely had no problem wearing masks I feel that this is a hugePower-play they stewardess and employees of the Alaska airlines.
I have flown my whole life with AK air and I will never fly them again!
